The Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural innovation awarded this renowned award for the second time to Engineer Naty Jaime as the most influential person in the date industry in Mexico. Mr. Naty Jaime has worked for more than 30 years in research and technology development in this crop in California, United States and in Baja California, Mexico. He has been a pioneer of the industry in Mexico. Much of his time has been spent in the field and carrying out research on his own ranch in collaboration with the National Institute of Agricultural and Livestock Forest Research, INIFAP, in Mexico and with the United States Department of Agriculture, USDA, in California.
Mr. Jaime held several seminars, classes and consultancies on both sides of the border aimed at producers and students in collaboration with government entities, universities and researchers. The nomination for the award was made by decision of the producers and by collaboration with the industry.
Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, presented the award at the 2nd Date Palm Festival in Mexico held in November 2023 where the Secretary of Agriculture of Mexico was present Victor Manuel Villalobos Arámbula, Governor of the state of Sonora, Lic. Alfonso Durazo Montaño, The ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Ahmed Almenhali, The Secretary General of the KALIFA Award, Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid and other distinguished State authorities of the governments of Sonora and Baja California, Mexico.

With great enthusiasm and satisfaction, Agricultural Engineer Natividad Jaime received the
Khalifa International Award for his career as a person of influence in the date industry in Mexico.
The Agricultural Engineer Jaime has organized multiple international seminars, which began in 2014 in Coachella Valley California where a 3-day theoretical-practical course was taught in the cradle of the date in America, after which the Engineer Jaime collaborated with the research institutions such as INIFAP where research on date palm cultivation has been carried out and where technical bulletins on the crop have been prepared.

Jaime has collaborated with his experience and with producers from all over the world, he was the first to have a web page with technical content in Spanish on crop management where thousands of Spanish-speaking people have learned the basic cultural and Propagation tasks on the date palm. and is currently working on launching a technical page in English and Spanish. In addition, Jaime has given multiple seminars and led workshops with discussions on cultivation issues and mitigation as well as advancements in Technology.

Within DATE KINGS Field facilities there is a medjhoul date palm plantation as well as an area of ​​Deglet Nour and some Barhee palms and Invitro (Tissue culture) palms obtained in the laboratory with the new reproduction technology where the researchers, Technicians, students and the general public interested in cultivation will be able to find information on the subject.

DATE KINGS Company receives groups of students, technicians and researchers from various states of Mexico and even other countries that are interested in the crop where they receive technical information on the date palm, as well as Jaime’s experience of markets and marketing of the date and its derivatives.

Engineer Jaime, through his company DATE KINGS, was invited to participate as an exhibitor at the ABU DHABI INTERNATIONAL FOOD EXHIBITION that will take place in the capital of the United Arab Emirates on December 6, 7 and 8 of this year, where together with other producers of the region will exhibit their products at this important event that will allow them to represent the Mexican date industry.
The Khalifa prize was awarded by the highest authorities of both countries, on the Mexican side the Mexican Secretary of Agriculture Dr. Víctor Villalobos Arámbula was present, the secretary of the Khalifa international prize Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, his excellent ambassador from the United Arab Emirates in Mexico, in addition to other distinguished personalities from our country and the United Arab Emirates
